The Pentagon Plastics Group Invest in Two New Machining Centres

The Pentagon Plastics Group, which consists of Pentagon Plastics Ltd and Phoenix Engineering, has announced a major investment of £150,000 with the delivery of new CNC machinery.

This investment continues many years of improving on-site services, particularly in the specialist tooling division at Phoenix Engineering.

The two new machining centres are both CNC – Computer Numerical Control – machines, where software is programmed to make the manufacturing process more efficient and controlled.

The two new machining centres are the Mikron VCE800 Pro – 3 axis, and a DMG DMU 50 Evo Linear – Full 5 axis. Both machines are a significant addition to the existing CNC capabilities provided by the group.

The main benefits to clients include a reduction in tolling lead times and a further reduction in sub-con services as more can be done in-house by the expert team.

In addition to this investment, the group are also hiring skilled toolmakers to further enhance the engineering team. Current vacancies include those for CNC machinists and toolmakers.

‘We take pride in these milestones’

Paul Edwards, Managing Director of the Pentagon Plastics Group has stated, ‘’We have been investing a lot in both Pentagon Plastics and Phoenix Engineering in recent years to increase our scope, and are delighted to take delivery of these new CNC machining centres.

With these machines and our expert staff, we are able to further reduce lead times and that’s a benefit for both ourselves and our clients who often work to tight deadlines.”
